Maxwell Biosciences offers innovative services tailored for EU Drug Discovery Innovation Programme participants. Maxwell Biosciences has developed technology (see Peptoids.ai) that can mimic any peptide, including 10,000+ peptides that naturally exist in the human body.
Our leading family of peptide mimics (Claromers®), are microbiome-friendly yet highly potent against all enveloped pathogens (viruses, fungi, and bacteria) and are low-cost, shelf-stable, biologically stable and require no refrigeration.
Below, we detail three key services for potential partners:
- Peptoids.ai: Partners in Custom Peptoid Design
- Microbiome-Safe, Cruelty-Free, Antiseptic Small Molecules for Non-Pharmaceutical Applications: (Cosmetics, Personal Care Products, Coatings, etc.)
- Clinical, FDA-Track Claromers Targeting Sepsis, Brain Fungal Infections, Chronic Rhinosinusitis and Post-Viral Syndrome
Peptoids.ai: Partners in Custom Peptoid Design
We have the ability to design a mimic of any peptide in the human innate immune system. If there is a peptide of interest to you for a specific issue/indication, we can co-develop tailored peptoids. For example, a peptide for Lyme Disease or GLP-1. Use Peptoids.ai to design new medicines faster than ever, your very own chemist that works at high speeds (hours, not years) to explore millions of possible peptoids (small molecule mimics of natural peptides that are super stable and potent against infections). Trained on real-world data about how peptides fight diseases, it uses AI to invent brand-new candidates with perfect traits: strong disease-fighting power (potency), long-lasting in the body (stability), easy absorption (bioavailability) and dodging drug resistance.
Microbiome-Safe, Cruelty-Free, Antiseptic Small Molecules for Non-Pharmaceutical Applications: (Cosmetics, Personal Care Products, Coatings, etc.)
Our antimicrobial, microbiome-safe Claromer peptoids are small molecules that selectively target pathogenic viruses, bacteria, fungi and biofilms without disrupting commensal microbiomes—providing a preservative for a diverse array of products: cosmetics, personal care products, coatings, even food prep.
Here are some potential applications:
- Skincare creams, gels and serums
- Personal hygiene products
- Post-procedural dermal care
- Scalp and hair treatments
- Deodorants and acne treatments
- Sprays for hospitals and gyms
- Food prep sanitization
Clinical, FDA-Track Pharmaceutical Development
MXB-22,510, Maxwell Biosciences' lead Claromer peptoid (a mimic of peptide LL-37), is anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and is responsible for reducing the hallmarks of aging like inflammation, lack of healing, gray hair and wrinkles. It is first to FDA for the following indications:
1. Chronic Rhinosinusitis (CRS)
- Smart AI-driven intranasal spray targeting pain/pressure relief and CT-confirmed sinus clearance
- Accompanying mobile app with friendly friendly personality that adjusts to patient’s individual needs and personality, an day-to-day assistant to the doctor
- Pre-clinical phase complete with recent, successful nonhuman primate study
- Pre-IND submission planned (one pre-IND meeting complete)
- Human trials anticipated in 2027
- 24-month estimate to potential approval
2. Brain Fungal Infections
- Intranasal delivery bypasses blood-brain barrier
- Broad-spectrum fungicidal action: Targets brain fungal infections (biofilms and mixed infections) by disrupting fungal cell membranes—specifically binding pathogen surfaces (killing fungi like Candida albicans, Aspergillus fumigatus, Mucor and Rhizopus)
- No resistance development
3. Post-Viral Syndrome (PVS)
- Claromers target PVS root cause, destroying persistent pathogenic bacteria/fungi/viruses
- No microbiome harm
- Intranasal delivery: Nose-to-brain route achieves high CNS penetration for brain fog/fatigue
4. Sepsis
- Subcutaneous injection for broad-spectrum relief of sepsis
- Microbiome-safe
- No cold chain needed
- Sponsored by the Government of India
