Dr. Jana von Hehn has been with RSRT for 5 years and has over 15 years of drug development experience. She oversees the foundation’s clinical research efforts, including the parent-reported Rett Syndrome Global Registry, RSRT’s biorepository, and biosensor development initiative. Prior to RSRT, Dr. von Hehn led FDA-regulated clinical development programs and clinical trial operations teams at pharmaceutical companies in the Boston area to advance treatments for pediatric neurodevelopmental and epilepsy disorders, including autism, status epilepticus, complex seizures, Fragile X syndrome, and infantile spasms. Outside neurology, she was responsible for oncology programs in solid and liquid tumors and programs in the immunology and respiratory fields. She ran pivotal studies that contributed to a drug approval by the FDA in 2020, and is an inventor on a patent for a small molecule drug currently in development. She earned her PhD in genetics and molecular biology from Emory University and a BS in molecular biology and microbiology from the University of Central Florida.
